The Young Leaders Development Program is an annual youth leadership training program organized by the AIA Foundation. Since 1996, over 300 university students have joined the program. |

Background of the Donor
| |
The AIA Foundation is a non-profit-making organization established in 1995 under the initiative of American International Assurance Coompany, Limited. The Foundation supports worthwhile charitable causes including education programs such as Scholarship Scheme and Young Leaders Development Program.
The AIA Foundation Scholarship was launched in 1995 and has granted scholarships of about HK$4 million to more than 210 students in Hong Kong and Macau over the past 12 years.

To celebrate AIA's 75th anniversary, over 2,000 AIA representatives and employees came together in a charity walkathon to benefit those less fortunate on October 21, 2006. They started the Walkathon from AIG Tower in Central to AIA Building in Wan Chai, to AIA Plaza in Causeway Bay towards the final destination at AIA Tower in North Point. The Walkathon raised a total of over HK$1.3 million for various charitable initiatives.
The kick-off ceremony was officiated by Mr. Frederick Ma, JP, former Secretary for Financial Services and the Treasury; the Hon. Bernard Chan, JP, Member of Executive Council & Legislative Council; Dr. Eric Li, Senior Partner of Li, Tang, Chen & Co.; Mr. T.C. Cheng, Deputy President of American International Assurance Company, Limited; Mr. Alwin Lam, Chairman of American International Assurance Company (Bermuda) Limited, Hong Kong and Macau; Mr. Greg Crichton, Director, Executive Vice President & General Counsel of American International Assurance Company, Limited, and Mr. Chris Townsend, former President and Managing Director of American International Underwriters, Limited. In addition, Mr. Pang Chung, the Hon. Secretary General of Sports Federation and Olympic Committee of Hong Kong, China; the two Bronze Medal Winners of the Women's 4x100m Relay at the 2005 East Asian Games, Ms Chan Ho Yee and Ms Leung Shuk Wa; as well as representatives of various charitable organizations were also there to support this worthwhile charitable event.
