HONG KONG, January 5, 2005: - American International Assurance Company (Bermuda), Limited. (AIA) today announced an offer to provide free worldwide emergency assistance services to new customers of any life or accident and health insurance plans for one year. The offer period is from now till March 31, 2005.

Mr. Alwin Lam, Executive Vice President and General Manager of AIA said, “AIA has been offering worldwide emergency assistance services to our customers in accordance with their insurance plans. The tragedy in South Asia has heightened public’s awareness of the need of such services. By offering the worldwide emergency assistance services free to new policyholders, we hope more people would have access to these services.”

From January 1 to March 31, 2005, new customers of any life or accident & health insurance plans, the insured will be entitled to free worldwide emergency assistance services operated by American International Assistance Services (AIAS) for one year effective from the policy issuance date. The services in the free offer include 24-hour worldwide telephone assistance services, emergency medical evacuation and repatriation of remains. There are no maximum amount limits imposed on these services.

In addition to these innovative products, AIA provides financial planning services and has launched an investment-linked plan, Asset Accumulator, which has been highly successful in Hong Kong.
