AIA Foundation Supports MSF Orienteering Competition
2,400 Participants Geared Up for Fundraising

   
Hong Kong, January 31, 2005 – AIA Foundation has been supporting the fundraising event, MSF Orienteering Competition for its fourth consecutive years. The event, organized by the Medecins Sans Frontieres, was successfully held in Tai Tong, Yuen Long on January 23, 2005. A record high of 2,400 participants geared up for this fundraising event and HK$2 million was raised, in which over HK$200,000 came from AIA Foundation.

Ms. Jacqueline Kam, Committee Chairman of AIA Foundation said, “AIA Foundation is always committed to serving the community and supporting worthwhile charitable causes. We are glad to join hands with all the participants to create such an encouraging result. This means more victims of war or natural disasters can obtain assistance from MSF’s worldwide medical relief work.”

Besides giving financial support to this event, AIA Foundation also mobilized nearly 200 AIA staff, agents as well as members of Young Leaders Alumni to participate in this challenging event. The number of participants doubled this year in which some of the AIA team members were presented various fundraising awards. With their enthusiastic support, AIA Foundation was presented the Excellent Organization Fundraising Award, Organization Fundraising Award. The participants of AIA Foundation also won the All Categories Champion Award.

The organizer aimed at raising the awareness of the survival of those populations in danger through this event. The amount raised will be allocated to MSF for its emergency medical assistance to populations in more than 70 countries.

It is a non-profit-making organization set up to extend support to worthwhile charitable causes. The objective of the Foundation is to assist educational, medical, sports and community programs.
