AIA Awarded "Leading International Brand" and "Category Award" of Hong Kong Superbrands 2005/2006

   
Hong Kong, December 9, 2005 - American International Assurance Company (Bermuda) Limited (AIA) was presented the Leading International Brand in the Hong Kong Superbrands 2005/2006. In addition, AIA received the top honor Category Award in Financial and Business Services Category for the third consecutive year which once again testified to AIA's leading position in the market.

The Superbrands Award was organized by the Superbrands International which aimed at recognizing companies that have successfully established and maintained quality brand performance. This year, the strongest brands in 15 industries were selected as the awardees for Category Award. These top brands were accorded prime rankings from an intensive consumer survey conducted by Synovate Hong Kong. The survey assessed the consumers' most preferred brand in each of the respective categories. Consumers participating in the survey were also asked to list the Leading International Brand and the Leading Local Brand.

Earlier this year, AIA was also presented a Platinum Award in Asia and a Gold Award in Hong Kong in the SuperBrand survey 2005 conducted by Reader's Digest. This survey identified brands that are most appealing to Asian consumers in six key markets - Hong Kong, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Taiwan and Thailand.
