January 3, 2007, Hong Kong – American International Assurance Company (Bermuda) Limited (AIA) announced that Mr. Alwin Lam has been appointed Chairman, AIA Hong Kong and Macau; and Mr. Derek Yung has been appointed Senior Vice President and General Manager, AIA Hong Kong and Macau.

Mr. Alwin Lam joined AIA Hong Kong in 1997 as Senior Vice President and General Manager and was promoted to Executive Vice President and General Manager in 2004. He has provided valuable strategic leadership and support to the Company. In his new role, he will remain as a key member of AIA's senior management team.

Mr. Lam has 35 years of experience in the life insurance business. He is active in developing and promoting the life insurance industry.He has served as Vice Chairman of the Life Insurance Council of Hong Kong. Currently, he is a member of the Insurance Advisory Committee.

Mr. Derek Yung joined AIA Hong Kong in 1997 and has over 20 years of marketing and agency management experience in the life insurance industry. He was appointed Senior Vice President and Deputy General Manager in September 2006.

Mr. Yung succeeds Mr. Lam to assume overall management responsibilities for both AIA Hong Kong and Macau to achieve production, profit and growth targets of the Company. He will also formulate and execute strategic plans to further enhance performance and efficiency of the operations.

Mr. Yung holds a Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Leeds in England. He is a Fellow of Life Management Institute (FLMI) and achieved designations in Associate, Customer Service (ACS), Associate, Insurance Agency Administration (AIAA) and Associate, Insurance Regulatory Compliance (AIRC).
