February 4, 2008, Hong Kong – American International Assurance Company (Bermuda) Limited (AIA) has enhanced its ‘Super Good Health’ medical plan by adding a ‘No Claim Bonus’, a popular feature where a bonus of up to a maximum of 15% of the premium paid for the preceding policy year will be refunded to policyholders. This newly added benefit provides customers with more comprehensive hospitalization protection. AIA's ‘Super Good Health’ medical plan offers 4 plan levels, namely Standard, Deluxe, Super-Deluxe and Ultra-Deluxe for newborns to those aged 65, and is renewable up to the age of 100. The plan offers all-round medical protection by reimbursing hospitalization and surgery fees, and miscellaneous expenses in the event of sickness or accident. It also provides an intensive care benefit up to a maximum of 15 days. Upon discharge from the hospital, customers are still covered by the daily post-surgery home nursing benefit and reimbursement on chiropractor/physiotherapist consultation expenses. In addition, compassionate and accidental death benefits, blood donation benefit, medical accident and incident extension benefit as well as worldwide emergency assistance services are included. The newly added ‘No Claim Bonus’ feature is applicable to customers who have not made any claims for 3 consecutive policy years or more while their plans are in force. The policyholders will be eligible for a refund of a predetermined percentage of the premium paid for the preceding policy year as a bonus. The longer the no-claim period, the larger the refund amount. The refund percentage is 5% for a no-claim period of 3 consecutive policy years, and up to 10% and 15% for 4 and 5 consecutive policy years respectively. Mr. Barry Chung, Vice President and Head of Accident and Health Department of American International Assurance Company (Bermuda) Limited, said, “The cost of living in Hong Kong is sky-rocketing. This will inevitably exert an upward pressure on medical expenses and add to the financial burden of Hong Kong people. In view of the rising medical expenses, it is important for the Hong Kong people to have comprehensive hospitalization protection. The 'Super Good Health' medical plan, which offers a wide range of coverage, now features the additional ‘No Claim Bonus’ benefit to further satisfy the needs of our customers.” To benefit more customers, current policyholders of ‘Super Good Health’ will also be eligible for the ‘No Claim Bonus’ privilege from the policy anniversary starting from February 1, 2008. - End - |
