AIA Foundation Supports MSF Orienteering Competition for the Seventh Year and Raises HK$580,000 for MSF

   

April 7, 2008, Hong Kong – The AIA Foundation has been supporting the fundraising event, MSF Orienteering Competition, for the seventh consecutive years. This year, the event raised over HK$2.1 million for Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) of which around HK$580,000 was contributed by the AIA Foundation. Over the past 7 years, the AIA Foundation has raised over $2 million for MSF.

The fundraising event this year attracted more than 1,800 participants. The AIA Foundation did not only sponsor the event but also mobilized over 450 AIA representatives, staff as well as members of the Young Leaders Alumni, and formed 126 teams to participate in the challenge.

With a record breaking donation amount and the outstanding performance of the teams, the AIA Foundation was presented the newly introduced Corporate Sector Trophy, the Excellent Organization Fundraising Award and the Organization Fundraising Award. The AIA Foundation was the winner of the All Categories Champion Award, while 13 AIA teams comprising sales representative and staff won various fundraising awards.

The organizer aims to raise the awareness of the plight of those populations in danger through this event. The money raised will be used in MSF's worldwide medical relief work to provide aid to victims of war, epidemics or natural disasters in more than 70 countries.
