and the “Caring Company Logo” for the 15th Consecutive Year

AIA Hong Kong has been honoured for the sixth year in a row with the “The Outstanding Corporate Social Responsibility Award” presented by the Greater China publication, The Mirror Magazine, in recognition of its remarkable contributions to the community and efforts to build a sustainable society. The Company has also received the “Caring Company” logo from the Hong Kong Council of Social Service (HKCSS) for the 15th consecutive year, one of the few companies to hold the distinction for so long.
Mr Jacky Chan, Chief Executive Officer of AIA Hong Kong & Macau, said, “As ‘The Real Life Company', AIA Hong Kong upholds our corporate social responsibility by actively participating in events and initiatives to give back to our community. Guided by our mission of Creating Shared Value, we go beyond corporate social responsibility by creating value to benefit different stakeholders including staff, financial planners and the community as a whole. We embrace corporate social responsibility as a long-term commitment and will continue to strive to make a positive difference by helping people live longer, healthier and better lives.”
AIA Hong Kong launched its game-changing “AIA Vitality” wellness programme to reinforce its commitment to promoting healthy living. The campaign encourages customers and Hong Kong people to maintain healthy lifestyles by rewarding them for developing healthier habits. In addition, the Company has been the Principal Sponsor of Oxfam Trailwalker in the name of “AIA Vitality” for three years running. In 2016, it supported the participation of staff and financial planners in the event to make AIA Hong Kong again the largest corporate team. Moreover, 2017 marks the 16th consecutive year of AIA Hong Kong's active involvement in the Médecins Sans Frontières Orienteering Competition, demonstrating the Company's commitment to advocating a healthy lifestyle. The Young Leaders Development Programme organised by AIA Foundation also entered its 19th year in 2016. The Programme's aim is to nurture the leaders of tomorrow by providing university students with a series of in-depth comprehensive training courses.
AIA Hong Kong has also won for the sixth time “The Outstanding Corporate Social Responsibility Award”, presented by The Mirror Magazine. This is the Greater China region's first corporate social responsibility award. AIA Hong Kong's excellent performance across six selection criteria, including shareholder interest, employee engagement, environmental protection, commitment to customers, social engagement and thought leadership was greatly admired by a judging panel made up of leaders from the business and academic sectors.
Celebrating its 15th anniversary this year, the HKCSS's “Caring Company Logo” has become the most respected mark of good corporate citizenship. The scheme aims at cultivating corporate social responsibility to create a caring community by promoting strategic partnerships among businesses, public bodies and non-profit organisations. It rewards companies that have demonstrated good corporate citizenship in three “Caring” aspects - caring for community, caring for employees and caring for the environment.
