AIA Scholars Join Community Activities
Send Gift Packs to Less Privileged Elderly Amid Winter Chill

Recipients of the AIA Scholarships (AIA Scholars) are keen on community activities to care for the less privileged elderly. Taking a day out of their winter break, they prepared gift packs that comprised of daily staples and necessities such as rice, cooking oil and masks at an elderly centre, and later hand-delivered the gift packs to the less privileged elderly, spreading their love and blessings amid the chilly weather.

This community service is part of the Young Leaders Development Programme (YLDP) organised by AIA Foundation as an opportunity for the young leaders to care for the elderly while fostering intergenerational connections and rapport. The heart-warming exercise also demonstrated the spirit of social inclusion as advocated in AIA's Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) commitment.

AIA Foundation is committed to nurturing our children and youth to cultivate a healthier and more productive future human capital for the city. In 2020, the Foundation established the AIA Scholarships, pledging US$100 million to support 100 undergraduates each year to complete their undergraduate studies at a Hong Kong university over the next several decades. On top of financial support, AIA Scholars can join YLDP activities. Throughout their academic journey, AIA Scholars will be equipped with the skills needed to help build a better Hong Kong through activities such as career-planning workshops and opportunities to serve their community.
Students who meet the requirements of academic performance and community service of the AIA Scholarships in the annual evaluation will be awarded a scholarship for that year.

AIA Scholars hand out gift packs to less privileged elders, warming their hearts in the chilly Winter.
