AIA Grants Second Round of Scholarship Awards to 100 University Students in Hong Kong

3 August 2022
100 university students have received the AIA Scholarships today as the second cohort of beneficiaries of the flagship scholarship programme established in October 2020 and supported by AIA Foundation. This programme contributes to our Purpose of helping people live Healthier, Longer, Better Lives and our ESG1 commitment to making a wider positive impact on society. The AIA Scholarships is one of the initiatives that advances the "S" of our ESG commitment and aims to empower young people in Hong Kong to reach their full potential by helping them pursue university education and the opportunity to broaden their horizons.

This second round of scholarships is part of AIA's October 2020 pledge of US$100 million to support 100 undergraduates every year to attend Hong Kong universities over the next several decades. The AIA Scholarships is run by AIA Foundation in collaboration with 10 partner universities in Hong Kong. The AIA Scholars will each receive an award of HK$50,000 each year throughout their undergraduate programme.

Recipients of the scholarships are selected based on their track record of academic excellence and community service, as well as their need for financial support to pursue higher education. On top of the AIA Scholarships, AIA Foundation will engage with the scholars throughout their academic journeys, providing them with career-planning workshops, dialogues with AIA's senior leaders and opportunities to serve community.
