The "Global Wealth Report 2025" indicates that global personal wealth grew further last year, increasing by 4.6% in US dollar terms. This represents a 0.4 percentage point rise from the 4.2% growth seen in 2023, with the increase primarily driven by Central Europe and North America.

Regarding the number of USD millionaires, the United States leads with over 23.83 million people, followed by China with 6.327 million. Taiwan has nearly 760,000, while Hong Kong accounts for 647,000, meaning roughly one in every ten adults in Hong Kong is a USD millionaire.

After adjusting for inflation and calculating in local currency, the average and median wealth of Hong Kong's adult population grew by 1.5% and 2.11% respectively as of mid-2024. Since 2020, these figures have increased by 2.65% and 5.92% respectively.

UBS predicts that average wealth per adult will continue to grow over the next five years, led by the United States, Greater China, Latin America, and Oceania.
